VIP vs Standard vs Flush Portable Toilets: Which Should You Rent?

GuidesUpdated 2 November 20262 min read

Portable toilets are not all the same. In Malaysia you will usually be choosing between a standard unit, a flush unit and a VIP or premium unit. The right choice depends on who will use it, for how long and what impression you want to make. Here is a plain comparison.

The three types side by side

Ask us which units are available for your date, since stock for each type is limited at busy times.

When a standard unit is enough

Standard units are the workhorse. They are the sensible choice for construction sites, plantations, large public events and crew or caterer use at weddings. They are easy to place, easy to service and keep the cost down when you need many units.

When to step up to a flush unit

A flush unit is a good middle ground. If the toilet will be used every day by the same people, or if guests will expect a more comfortable experience without VIP rates, a flush unit is worth considering.

When a VIP unit is worth it

A VIP unit is for occasions where the toilet is part of the guest experience. Our Boudoir VIP and The Lux Premium units have a decorated interior, air conditioning, vanity mirrors and premium fittings. At a wedding dinner, a corporate launch or a VIP tent, guests notice the difference, and often do not realise they are in a portable toilet at all.

The smart way: mix types

You do not have to pick one type for the whole event. A common setup is VIP units for guests, plus one or two standard units for caterers, band and crew. The same idea works for a site: standard units for workers, and a better unit for the site office and visitors.

Then work out how many

VIP units are usually planned at a lower guest-to-unit ratio, about 1 per 20 guests, because guests tend to use them more and for longer. Our calculator handles all three types, so you can test different mixes before asking for a quote.
